Pain is defined as an unpleasant sensory and emotional experience associated with tissue damage or potential tissue damage. Pain is usually caused by a noxious (painful) stimulus but may be experienced in the absence of stimulus.
During our CPR re-certification, a student expressed that he had hurt his wrist and was unable to perform proper chest compressions. We offered to take a look at his wrist and he appeared quite confused. He was unaware that chiropractors could treat wrists.
